Kangana Ranaut, the National Award winning 'Queen' of Bollywood gave Karan Johar a tough time at his own chat show, a few weeks ago, but Karan Johar’s comeback smacks of petulance.
Not one to mince words, Kangana Ranaut became the sole outspoken Bollywood actress on Karan Johar's controversial couch, without any attempt to prove otherwise. Accusing the director of being the 'flagbearer of nepotism', she did steal his show and as Indian Express puts it, it was like a "lion being beaten in his own den".
Laughing off her claims and even apologizing for them on the show, Karan Johar pulled a Kangana Ranaut at another interview when he for once, didn't care to be apologetic or diplomatic, a quintessential characterisic of a Bollywood lovey-dovey!

"I am done with Kangana playing the woman card and the victim card. You cannot be a victim at every point of time, having a sad story to tell." he said, also advising her to leave the industry if it's so bad.
While many lauded the director for his remarks, there were maybe a few more who cared to remind him of the sense and sensibilities of the actress' opinions.

"Is it fair to say Kangana is playing the victim card for just speaking her mind and exposing a harsh truth about nepotism and Bollywood? By that measure wasn’t Raj Thackeray playing the political card when he almost stalled your Diwali release Ae Dil Hai Mushkil? But, of course, we never heard you say that. Every question on Raj Thackeray was met with a pin-drop silence. Perhaps Kangana is a weaker foe whom you can easily take on. How very convenient!"

Karan Johar is probably the favorite director of all Bollywood elites. But that must be a coincidence, just like him giving a platform to showcase talent of many starkids, from Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt to Aayan Mukherjee and his favourite Ranbir Kapoor who (coincidently, let's say) is a favorite of Dharma Productions, being cast in several movies under the production house's banner.
Coming back to Johar's charge that Kangana Ranaut was playing the 'woman card', Piyasree Dasgupta questioned 'What exactly is a woman card? ' in the Huffington Post,
"The casual arrogance of a man who was served up the the entire industry on a platter by the virtue of his birth aside, his use of the phrase 'woman card', conflating it with the 'victim card', is pretty fascinating.", she writes.
Karan Johar's retaliation to Kangana Ranaut's unapolgetic remarks, on his face, like they say, didn't please Twitteraties too, with many siding with the actress.
