No Indian unity if we ignore Cholas, Cheras, Velunachiar and Thiruvalluvar, said BJP leader Tarun Vijay at a function at a Chennai College.

Vijay, who inaugurated the Tamil students' fest at Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar Engineering College, was felicitated by the students with a Thiruvalluvar award. He became first North Indian, Hindi speaking person from RSS background to get an award like this.

At the fest, he also said that rise of Tamil youth power good omen for India.

He said that "its not just enough to project Asoka and Vikramaditya and the Moghuls while completely ignoring th mightiest empires of Cholas, Chera, Pandyas and Krshnadev Rayas."

Quoting Thirukural he said that the greatest source of inspiration for students must be their parents and they must work for the poor and the tillers of the soil.
