Delhi government on Wednesday agreed to implement the odd-even scheme without any exemptions after the National Green Tribunal's rap last month.

While submitting a detailed action plan in front of the Tribunal, Arvind Kejriwal government decided to do away with  exemptions given to certain parties, said NDTV report.

NGT had objected to various provisions in the scheme exempting women, two-wheelers, VVIPs and children carriers. The government had cancelled the plan to implement the odd-even formula in November when Delhi was enveloped in choking haze, saying that they "cannot compromise on women safety."

Directing the city government not to implement the scheme unless it established that it was not counter-productive, the NGT asked it to give an undertaking that it will roll out odd -even only when particulate matter (PM) 2.5 was over 300.
