West Indies managed to finish the day in a strong position at 223 for 5 despite hosts Bangladesh chipping away with wickets on day 1 in Mirpur, Dhaka. Bangladesh had made three changes in the playing XI. Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Mithun and Abu Jayed Rahi were drafted in the side to replace Shadmad Islam, Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman. West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite made 47 giving his side a solid start. But hosts Bangladesh, trailing the series 1-0, struck back with Taijul Islam removing John Campbell for 32. West Indies lost three quick wickets post lunch and were reduced to 116 for 4. At stumps Nkrumah Bonner and Joshua Da Silva were batting at 74 and 22 runs, respectively.
