Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday lauded the protesting farmers for maintaining discipline during the protest in Mumbai.
The protesters walked in the middle of the night on service roads to not cause any inconvenience to the class 10 board exam students.
More than 35,000 people including farmers travelled 180 km from Nashik and reached Mumbai today demanding waiver of all farm loans, remunerative prices for produce, non-implementation of the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission as well as the Forest Rights Act.
Not only the CM but many others have applauded the farmers for travelling such a long distance to fight for their rights.

The chief minister informed the state Assembly that the government is sensitive to the demands of the farmers and tribal landless labourers.
Fadnavis's comment came after the Opposition leaders asked about the decisions being taken to fulfill the demands of the farmers.
CM Fadnavis said,"The government will have time-bound solutions to their problems it is in agreement with what the opposition leaders and others have said."
In the light of the ongoing farmers protest in Maharashtra, the state government on Sunday had decided to appoint a six members committee to look into the farmers demands.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting held at Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' residence, informed a Chief Ministers Officers source.

The committee will comprise of Maharashtra Minister Chandrakant Patil, Agriculture Minister Pandurang Fundkar, Irrigation Minister Girish Mahajan, Tribal Development Minister Vishnu Savara, state cooperatives minister Subhash Deshmukh and Shiv Sena leader and PWD Minister Eknath Shinde.
The Government had anticipated cooperation from the participants of the march for a smooth functioning of the traffic on March 12, as it is Monday and exams of the 12th and 10th board are also scheduled for the day.
Earlier this year, violence had erupted in many parts of Maharashtra during protests after Dalit groups were attacked in Pune on January 1. They were celebrating the bicentenary of the Bhima-Koregaon battle in which the British defeated the Peshwas of Maharashtra.
The protesters damaged buses, blocked roads and railway lines and forced shops to shut, in many cities of Maharashtra a day after unrest in Pune district.
In 2016, as many as 30 people were killed and properties worth crores of rupees were damaged at multiple locations in Haryana during the violent Jat stir.
