Congress leader Udit Raj on Tuesday asked why the Supreme Court was reluctant to allow the counting of all VVPAT slips.

Taking to Twitter, Raj wrote: "Why doesn't the Supreme Court want all VVPAT slips to be counted? Is it also involved in rigging?"

"It won't make a difference if the declaration of results is delayed by 2-3 days," he said.

Speaking to CNN-News18, Raj defended his tweet, saying the top court had dismissed the petition seeking a nod for the counting all VVPAT slips. "The Supreme Court cannot be correct everywhere," he added.

Raj had switched from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the Congress just before the Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Days after joining the Congress, the North-West Delhi MP had told Outlook that the BJP is anti-Dalit.

"The BJP doesn’t want Dalits as leaders. Dalits are only votebanks for them. This election, they have dropped 52 per cent of the sitting Dalit MPs. It’s mere symbolism and votebank politics for them," he had said.

Raj added that Modi was in the list of the general category before he became the CM of Gujarat. "To woo OBC votes, he became an OBC leader."
