Minutes after the Congress Tuesday sacked Sachin Pilot as Rajasthan’s deputy chief minister and party's state unit chief, the rebel party leader in a tweet said, “truth can be harassed, not defeated.”
Cracking the whip on the rebel party leader, the party also removed his loyalists Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena from the state cabinet.
“Pilot enjoyed the affection and blessings of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and was given political power at a young age. Yet, he and other ministers were trying to topple the state government as part of a BJP conspiracy,” said party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala.

Pilot is set to be the next high-profile exit from Congress after Jyotiraditya Scindia. Scindia joined the BJP earlier this year resulting in the collapse of the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh.
Earlier during the day, Pilot skipped the second Congress Legislature Party meeting even after Surjewala invited him to “come and resolve the issues” that have erupted after the conflict between him and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot escalated.
The Gehlot camp has claimed that 109 MLAs, both of the Congress and others, are in support of the government.

Pilot and his supporters claimed to have the backing of 30 Congress MLAs and some independents.
In the 200-member assembly, the Congress has 107 MLAs and the BJP 72.
