Delhi: Sub-Inspector Dies By Suicide Inside Ambulance After Being Refused Treatment At 3 Hospitals

A 39-year-old Delhi Police sub-inspector allegedly committed suicide by hanging inside an ambulance while he was on his way to a hospital, officials said on Friday.

The incident took place when the ambulance was heading to IHBAS hospital on Friday.

According to reports, Rajveer called for an ambulance from his residence in Dwarka. However, as many as three hospitals denied him admission. Agiatated over the hospitals’ response, Rajveer reportedly hanged himself with the help of curtains and other equipment inside the ambulance.

Rajveer was posted at southeast district lines and was undergoing mental trauma, officials said.

A senior police officer said, "SI Rajveer Singh was refused admission at three hospitals for various reasons...he got agitated."

DCP (Southeast) RP Meena said, “We found that he hanged himself using a piece of cloth in the CATS ambulance which was taking him to IHBAS hospital for admission. He was on leave for five days and was marked absent today morning in District Lines.”

Meanwhile, police is investigating the case.
