Polling is underway on 95 seats across 11 states in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Polling is being held on 38 seats in Tamil Nadu, 14 in Karnataka, 10 in Maharashtra, eight in Uttar Pradesh, five each in Assam, Bihar and Odisha, three each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, two in Jammu and Kashmir and one seat each in Manipur and Puducherry.

Elections are also being held in 35 assembly constituencies in Odisha.

The election was scheduled to be held in one seat in Tripura but the Election Commission has postponed polling till April 23 citing law and order situation.

6:10 pm: An average 57.22 per cent polling was recorded till 5 pm in 10 constituencies of Maharashtra where polling was held in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on Thursday

4:50 pm: Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency recorded 58.13 per cent polling, while the turnout was low in Srinagar seat with only 12.43 per cent of voters exercising their franchise till 3 pm on Thursday in the second phase of general elections in Jammu and Kashmir

3:20 pm: A 95-year-old man collapsed & later died while waiting for his turn to vote, at a polling booth in Ganjam. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. (ANI)

3:10 pm: Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh and his family cast their vote for the Rajnandgaon parliamentary constituency.

3:05 pm: Voting percent in three Lok Sabha constituencies of West Bengal till 1 pm: 

Jalpaiguri: 54.73%

Darjeeling: 47.52%

Raigunj: 52.54%

2:48 pm: Voter turnout till 1 PM in Maharashtra is 35.4%.

2:45 pm: EVM vandalized during a clash between TMC and BJP workers in West Bengal's Chopra.

2:41 pm: Police registered a case against BJP State president P S Sreedharan Pillai on charges of giving a communal speech against Muslims in Attingal.

2:27 pm: Criminal complaint filed in Delhi's Patiala House Court by one Joginder Tuli seeking direction to police for registration of FIR u/s 124A (IPC- Sedition charges) against Congress President Rahul Gandhi for making allegedly derogatory statements against PM Narendra Modi. (ANI)

2:10 pm: 33% polling in Odisha till 1 pm.

1:55 pm: Voting process recorded, posted on Facebook; probe ordered.

Election officials have ordered an inquiry after some voters recorded their voting process at a polling booth here and posted it on Facebook, police said. As per Election Commission guidelines, voters are not allowed to carry their mobile phones within a 100-metre radius of polling stations on the day of voting, an official said. (PTI)

Reports said Salim's convoy was pelted with bricks. Salim alleged that he was also attacked by Trinamool Congress workers who were threatening voters  inside a polling station

The second phase of elections begun in Kashmir amid high security, snapping of internet and low voting. In three districts of Srinagar constituency, Budgam, Ganderbal and Srinagar, 1.6 percent, 1.2 percent and 0.9 percent polling was recorded respectively till 9 a.m.

7:00 am: Among the key contestants in the fray are Union ministers Jual Oram, Sadananda Gowda and Pon Radhakrishnan, former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, Congress leaders Verappa Moily and Raj Babbar, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, BJP's Hema Malini and DMK's Dayanidhi Maran, A Raja and Kanimozhi.

6:45 am: West Bengal: EC has deployed 194 companies of central forces in the three constituencies going to polls to cover 80 percent of the 5,390 booths for free and fair polling.

6:41 am: Mobile internet services have been snapped in Srinagar and other parts of the valley, reports ANI.

This has been done as a precautionary measure, as Srinagar and Udhampur parliamentary constituencies go to vote today in the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
