A high drama unfolded at the Allahabad High Court Monday when unidentified people abducted a couple from the court premises. The couple had gone to the court to seek protection, citing threat to their lives.
The abductors bundled the couple in a vehicle at gunpoint and drove them off to Fatehpur, police said.
The police said that with the help of eyewitnesses they managed to trace the vehicle used to abduct the couple. The couple was rescued from Fatehpur and the abductors were also arrested.
"A news reporter told us that armed people had abducted the couple. We launched a vehicle checking drive in the city, " ANI quoted Additional Director General of Prayagraj, SN Sabat, as saying.

The incident happened at the same time when Sakshi Mishra, daughter of BJP MLA Rajesh Misra, was in the court premises along with her husband Ajitesh, seeking police protection from her father for marrying a Dalit.
Ajitesh was also assaulted by some unidentified people in the court premises.
Their lawyer SMA Nasim said, "Only Ajitesh was beaten up. It's not known who were these people. But it proves that there is indeed a threat to their lives."
Sakshi and her husband made headlines last week when they posted a video on social media, alleging threat to their lives. Sakhsi alleged that her father, who is a BJP MLA, had sent his men to kill them.
