Coronavirus Crisis: Air India To Suspend Delhi-Hong Kong Flights From Feb 8

In view of the coronavirus outbreak, Air India will suspend its flights operating between Delhi-Hong Kong from February 8, said the airline's Chairman and Managing Director Ashwani Lohani.

The development comes on the heels of India reporting three confirmed cases of coronavirus and all of them are in Kerala.

"In view of the coronavirus issue Air India is suspending its flights to Hong Kong after flying AI314 on the 7th of February 2020," said Air India Chairman and Managing Director Ashwani Lohani on Twitter.

Hong Kong on Tuesday reported the first death due to the novel coronavirus, becoming the third country after China and Philippines to confirm fatalities from the fast-spreading virus.

The Novel Coronavirus, which originated in China's Wuhan city, is rapidly spreading to other countries.

Earlier, IndiGo suspended all three flights between India and China.

Air India, earlier, suspended its Delhi-Shanghai flight and curtailed the flight operations on the Delhi-Hong Kong route.
