Bengal Police booked BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari and his brother Soumendu Adhikari for allegedly stealing relief material from the Kanthi Municipality office, reports claimed.
Somendu is a former municipal chief of the Kanthi municipality.
According to a report published by Mint, a case was registered against the duo after Ratnadip Manna, a member of Kanthi Municipal Administrative Board, filed a complaint at Kanthi Police Station on June 1 against the Adhikari brothers.
According to reports, the duo has been accused of stealing relief material worth Rs 2 lakh from the municipal office.
According to the Mint, Manna also alleged that the BJP leaders used armed central forces in the alleged theft.
