The police on Monday sent for postmortem the body of a minor girl from Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur who they suspect had committed suicide by setting herself on fire after being raped by two brothers.
The ANI reported that the father of the victim had lodged a complaint against the two brothers following which an FIR was registered. ANI report added that the minor's father told police the girl had committed suicide after two of brothers raped her.
"FIR has been registered against two brothers on a complaint of the victim's father. We have also sent the girl's body for postmortem," Lal Sahab Yadav, SSP quoted as saying.

This comes days after a minor girl in Haryana's Jind district was found dead with her private parts mutilated and liver ruptured. According to the post-mortem report, the girl was raped by more than two people who also inserted a blunt object into her body after raping her.
In another incident, a 22-year-old girl in Faridabad, Haryana was gang-raped inside a moving car on Sunday while she was on her way back home from work. Thewoman told the police that except the driver, other three men raped her for more than three hours on the moving car. She was later abandoned near a petrol pump in Sikri.
