Counting of votes in the 20 assembly constituncies in the hill districts ofManipur would be held after repoll at 73 polling booths being held on Feb 24 andFeb 25.
Repoll is being held at 48 polling stations covering 12 constituencies today,while recasting of votes would take place at 25 booths spread over remainingeight seats in the hill districts tomorrow, official sources said.
The repoll was ordered following reports of rigging, booth capturing andburning of election material in the second phase of polling on February 21.
Counting for 40 seats of the 60 assembly constituencies was in progress. Outof the leads available for 27 seats, Congress was leading in 12.

Out of the 20 results announced till late evening today, this was the position:
Congress - 8
Federal Party of Manipur - 5
Manipur State Congress Party 2
BJP - 2
Manipur National Conference - 1
Manipur People's Party - 1
CPI - 1
While FPM winners were former Fisheries Minister N Bihari Singh, formerEducation minister L Tomba Singh, N Biren, L Ibomcha Singh and Salam GopalSingh, those of Congress were Ngamthan Haokip, Brajabidhu Singh, Th DevendraSingh and Maniruddin Sheikh.
For BJP, the star winner was former Chief Minister R K Dorendra Singh who wonfrom Yaiskul assembly constituency defeating his nearest rival E Kunjeswar Singhof Congress by 1144 votes.

BJP caused a major setback in the camp of Samata Party as its state unitpresident Meinam Bhorot defeated former Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam ofSamata party in Thangmeiband by over 1000 votes.
Other prominent winners were Manipur People's Party President O Joy Singh andformer Revenue Minister Y Erabot of Manipur State Congress Party.
Manipur People's Party (MPP), Manipur National Conference and CPI bagged oneseat each.
