If Kashi-Mathura are seen as linked with Ayodhya then there would be problems in solving the Ayodhya issue.Kashi and Mathura are safe as per Places of Worship Act legislated by the Narasimha Rao government, whichstipulates that status quo ante — as it was before 1947 — must be maintained at all religious placesbarring Ayodhya and religious sites in Jammu-Kashmir No government can overlook this law.

Shankaracharyaji has refuted this. All that is being said is based on speculation. No one has any knowledgeof this formula.

This comment shows disrespect for him (Shnakaracharya). Lakhs of people draw inspiration from him. Who canmislead him? After the locks of Ramjanmabhoomi were opened, he was the first Shankaracharya to arrive forRamlala's darshan. He was present at the shilapujan in 1989 as well. He has been attending VHPmeetings and Dharma Sansad sessions. He has always been working for a solution the Ayodhya issue.Today, when even the members of other community are showing him respect, I can not think of anyone other thanhim who could be more suitable for seeking a solution. He is the only person whose proposals have even beenaccepted for discussion by the Muslim Personal Law Board.

VHP has been at the forefront of the Ayodhya movement. Can a solution that keeps them out becomeacceptable?
VHP and other organisations associated with Babri Masjid may not have been included in the initial talksbut a sustainable solution can not be found without taking them in confidence.
