Doctor's Card Swiped For Rs 4 Lakh Instead Of Rs 40 At Toll Booth On The Kochi-Mumbai National Highway

The attendant reportedly refused to accept his mistake when the doctor tried it to bring it to his notice after receiving a text acknowledging the deduction of Rs 4 Lakh from his account.

A Mysore-based doctor almost spent Rs 3,99,960 more on a toll booth ticket on the Kochi-Mumbai National Highway near Udupi. 

Dr. Rao was travelling to Mumbai via the coast when a toll attendant swiped Rs 4 lakh instead of Rs 40 from his debit card, said a report by the Times Of IndiaThe attendant, after swiping the card, gave the POS receipt and and toll receipt to the doctor.

The attendant reportedly refused to accept his mistake when the doctor tried it to bring it to his notice after receiving  a text acknowledging the deduction of Rs 4 Lakh from his account.

The doctor proceeded to Kota and went to the police station to file a complaint after which he returned to the toll gate with the head constable, said the report. 

It was then that the attendant admitted  his mistake and offered ro reimburse the amount by cheque. The doctor, however, was adamant to receive it only by cash.  The report said that the toll gate personnel made arrangements to pay Rs 3,99,960 in cash around 4 in the morning.
