A 25-year-old married woman preparing for civil service exams in Delhi has allegedly committed suicide for being ‘unhappy’ with her looks.
According to a report by the Indian Express, the woman, who hails from Uttarakhand, has left a two-line suicide note saying she was “unhappy” with her looks.
The report says she was found hanging from the ceiling fan on Monday morning at her PG accommodation in north Delhi’s Timarpur. She had been living there alone for the past eight months and was preparing for civil service exams.
According to a report by the Hindustan Times, her suicide note states that she was ending her life because she had an “ugly” face.

“The woman has written that she was upset because of her face. She has also written that she was taking the extreme step on her own and nobody should be held responsible for her death,” said a police officer, as quoted by HT.
Her body was sent for post-mortem and an SDM inquiry has been ordered. The police have also questioned the house owner and her friends. Her family members have been informed and they will also be questioned.
