Environment body EPCA has drafted measures to curb the rising pollution level in the national capital and has urged for their immediate implementation.
The EPCA has recommended that parking fees in Delhi-NCR be quadrupled and has instructed Delhi Metro to lower fares during off-peak hours for at least 10 days and introduce more coaches.
An fine of Rs 50,000 will also be imposed on road construction agencies violating dust pollution norms in Delhi-NCR and if pollution aggravates, construction may be temporarily banned.
The EPCA has also asked Delhi-NCR govts to start preparing for measures like odd-even.
On Tuesday, Delhi became a gas chamber as air quality touched 999, the highest the machines can read.

This is the worst air pollution day recorded in Delhi for the season so far.
