Staff of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation has been directed by the administration to begin their day with the national anthem and end it off by singing the national song (Vande Mataram).
The order was implemented on Tuesday, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
"Nothing is better than National Anthem and National Song to start and end the day with positive energy, on a positive note. Nationalism inspires a sense of service among people. I feel it should be a practice at all government offices, there should be no hesitation in being nationalist," Jaipur Mayor Ashok Lahoty told the media.
Lahoty said the move will instill a feeling of nationalism amongst the employees.
The order has also raised concerns amongst employees as it also comes with time adherence.
The national anthem commenced playing sharply at 9:50 a.m., after which the bio-metric attendance system has not accepted the entry for the day.
Attending the 5:55 p.m. recital of Vande Mataram will also be compulsory for the employees before logging out for the day. (ANI)
