An exit poll conducted by Development and research services (DRS) forDoordarshan and Zee TV predicts the following:

Kerala: Congress led UDF is set for a sweep

With a 48 per cent vote share, the UDF appears headed for a two-thirdsmajority in the 140-member house with 100 seats while the ruling left democraticfront would finish with 37 seats at 42 per cent vote share. "Other"parties with a vote share of nine per cent would get three seats.

Assam: Congress close to majority in a hung assembly 

The opposition, Congress, with a 42 per cent vote share is poised to get 60seats in the 126-member house followed by the AGP-BJP combine with 33 seats witha share of 31 per cent. "Other" parties are likely to get 32 seatswith a vote share of 27 per cent. Polling in dibrugarh constituency has beencountermanded.

West Bengal: The Left Front projected to get a simple majority; closecontest

An identical vote share of 44 per cent for both the major fronts with theruling left front winning a slender majority of 150 seats and the oppositionTrinamool Congress-Congress combine trailing closely at 138 seats in the294-member assembly. "Others" would get just about six seats with avote share of 12 per cent.

Tamil Nadu: AIADMK projected to get a simple majority; close contest

The ruling DMK-led front and the AIADMK-led front polling 47 and 48 per centvotes respectively with the AIADMK front getting a simple majority of 125 seatsin the 234-member assembly. The DMK front is likely to get 105 seats, with the"others" getting four seats with a five per cent vote share.

Pondicherry:

For the 30-member Pondicherry assembly, the poll did not predict any seatoutcome but as for the vote share, the DMK-led front is expected to get 40 percent, the TMC-Congress 28 per cent and the AIADMK-led front polling 25 per centvotes. "Others" would get seven percent.

The exit poll was conducted in 127 constituencies across the four states and one UT with a margin of three per cent error. The survey covered 20 constituencies in Kerala and Assam but the break-up was not given for other states.
