Mitsubishi has debuted the mid-life refreshed model of the latest-gen Pajero Sport, which is not on sale in India. The facelifted SUV features updated styling on the outside as well as a tweaked interior.

On the outside, the SUV gets an updated front fascia with a revised chrome grille and a new front bumper which features a cluster of lights for fog lamps and turn indicators. The new look is in line with Mitsubishi’s design language. At the rear, the changes are similar in nature as it gets an updated bumper and a tweaked set of tail lamps. The updated Pajero also gets new alloy wheels as well.

The cabin is finished in gloss black and grey with silver inserts. It also gets a redesigned central console along with soft materials on the door pads and handles. In terms of equipment, the updated Pajero Sport gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch MID, dual-zone AC and a powered tailgate that can also be operated through a mobile app. For safety, the Pajero comes with adaptive cruise control, seven airbags, lane change assist, rear traffic alert system, blind spot detection system and a 360 degree camera.

Under the hood, the Pajero Sport comes with a 2.4-litre diesel engine that makes 180PS of power and 430Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox along with an optional 4WD system.

While the updated 2020 Pajero Sport will go sale in nearly 90 countries soon, Mitsubishi has not said anything about bringing the SUV to India. The carmaker currently sells the previous-gen Pajero Sport here, which is priced from Rs 28.35 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). It rivals likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Isuzu mu-X and the Mahindra Alturas G4.
