While the CAG's Report on Performance Audit of Civil Aviation in India, which was placed in Parliament today, has understandably put the spotlight back on Mr Praful Patel's tenure as the civil aviation minister and while the focus as yet is on its questioning the quantum jump in aircraft orders for Air India and Indian Airlines and the speed with which it was cleared at all official levels in 2005, those who have followed the sector, and listened to the Niira Radia tapes, would know that the rot ran much deeper.
