The Delhi High Court on Monday transferred  the Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) MLAs' pleas seeking quashing of their disqualification from the Delhi Assembly for holding "office of profit" to a division bench. A single-judge bench of the Delhi HC extended  its interim order restraining the Election Commission from issuing by-poll notification for 20 Assembly seats.

On January 21, President Ram Nath Kovind had approved the disqualification of the MLAs, who were appointed as parliamentary secretaries by the Arvind Kejriwal-led government, after the Election Commission of India (ECI) recommended the same on January 19.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court had refused to stay the sacking of the legislators.
