Remembering former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 75th birth anniversary, Manmohan Singh said these trends are repugnant to promotion of peace, national integration and communal harmony, which are cherished objectives enshrined in our Constitution.  

At a prayer meeting organised at 'Veer Bhumi', the memorial of Rajiv Gandhi, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also paid homage along with other family members.

The Madras High Court. earlier this month, had granted one month parole to Nalini after she argued her plea in person for seeking the relief to make arrangements for her daughter's wedding.

A division bench comprising Justices R Subbaiah and C Saravanan, held that Article 361 of the Constitution insulated the Governor of a state from being questioned or answerable before any court with respect to discharge his official duties.

The Court ordered Nalini not to give any interviews and not to meet any political person while out on parole.

Tamil sensation Rajinikanth said that Congress President Rahul Gandhi need not resign following the party's debacle in the Lok Sabha elections, as he was youngster, and perhaps had not got the cooperation of senior party leaders.

Rajiv Gandhi's wife Sonia Gandhi, and his children, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra paid him tributes at his memorial, Veer Bhumi, in the capital on Tuesday.

The CBI on Thursday submitted before the court, that decision on further course of action would be taken by it, and wanted to withdraw the application for now.
