Nitu won her first-round match against Steluta Duta by unanimous decision. She faces Marta Lopez Del Arbol in the round of 16 on Saturday.
Nikhat Zareen will face Thailand's Jitpong Jutamas in the 52kg summit clash. Other Indians -- Manisha Moun (57kg) and debutant Parveen Hooda (63kg) settled for bronze.
Parveen will play against the former Youth Olympics champion Jajaira Gonzalez of USA in the next round on Sunday.
Nitu (48kg) ended her campaign with a defeat to Alua Balkibekova, while Pooja Rani (81kg) also lost her bout to Jessica Bagley.
