Unlike other Sundays, the whole country was awake to see the Indians in action at the World Athletics Championships 2022 in Eugene, USA. All eyes were on Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra and Rohit Yadav in the men’s javelin event final, and triple jumper Eldhose Paul. While hopes of a medal for Paul and Yadav went up in smoke after three attempts in their respective events, the spotlight once again fell to India's golder boy Neeraj Chopra. However, unlike his previpus events this season, Neeraj had a false start before producing a legitimate throw of 82.39m in his second attempt. He bettered that in his third with a 86.37m throw before producing the silver-medal clinching throw in his fourth. His final two attemps were fouls. Defending champion Anderson Peters once again proved why his the best in business, with three 90m-plus throws on Sunday. His best effort came in the last throw of the event when he spent his spear to a distance of 90.54m. Get highlights of World Athletics Championships 2022 final at the Hayward Field.
