The Bangladesh national cricket won the ODI series 2-1 against South Africa on Wednesday. Temba Bavuma won the toss and decided to bat first. The scorecard reading 66/1 even proved his decision right, but what followed was absolute carnage from the Bangaldesh team. Their bowlers and fielders teamed up to pick one after another South African wickets and eventually bundled out the Proteas for a paltry 154. Even the lady luck was on Bangladesh's side as some poor balls also ended up getting wickets for them. Taskin Ahmed was the star with the ball with figures of 5/35. In the chase too, both the openers - Liton Das and Tamim Iqbal - rode their luck at the beginning before cashing in on the opportunity beautifully and guiding the side to a historic series win in South Africa. While Liton fell on 48 runs, a ruthless Tamim carried his bat with an unbeaten knock of 87 runs that came off 82 balls. His innings was laced with 14 fours.

Notably, Bangladesh had won the first ODI convincingly in Centurion but South Africa had struck back in the second game at Johannesburg. The Tigers won the third ODI in Centurion and clinched the historic series. Highlights of South Africa vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI.

10:12 PM IST: We Were Not Just Good Enough - Temba Bavuma

"We were outplayed in this series. I think the standard and intensity with which we played against India was another level. But we were not just good enough in this 3-match ODI series … We weren't good enough across all the three departments, that's all what I can say."

10:09 PM IST: It's A Massive Win – Tamim Iqbal

“This is our one of the biggest achievement, it's a massive win. We can win series overseas, this win will give us that confidence moving forward. We take a lot of pride in ODI cricket, we believe we are a good side. This is one forward where we have been doing well in the last 5-6 years. Winning a series overseas was missing, but we have managed to do that this time.

"For Shakib to come here and play is massive. Shakib's family is in the hospital, so I want to thank him for coming here and playing for us."

10:04 PM IST: Memorable Moment For Taskin The Bowler

Taskin Ahmed has won both the Player of the Match award and the Player of the Series award.

“I'm feeling happy and proud as we have won for the first time in South Africa. This is also my first Player of the Series award. I have been following the same process in the last one and a half year, I followed the same process today and hopefully I will continue,” said Taskin after the game.

09:49 PM IST: What A Game, What A Moment!

The way South Africa had bounced back in the second ODI, it seemed that Bangladesh could stand nowhere in front of them in the third ODI, but the Tigers not only bounced back but did so with utter dominance.

09:38 PM IST: Bangladesh Win

A four from Shakib Al Hasan and Bangladesh win the game by 9 wickets. It's a historic moment for the Tigers as they win their maiden series on South African soil. Many fans are in tears, why shouldn't they be? After all, it's a moment they will all remember for ages.

09:30 PM IST: Bangladesh Need 8 More

Bangladesh are at the brink of scripting history in Centurion. Tamim is unbeaten on 85 and won't be able to complete his century. Does it matter for him at this point? No, should be the answer. Though, he must be proud if he takes his side home.

BAN 147/1 (25)

09:16 PM IST: Wicket

An anti-climax for Liton Das as he loses his wicket on 48 runs. He tried to hit a Keshav Maharaj delivery over the cover but failed to get the elevation. Nonetheless, he has done his work and Bangladesh must be happy with his crucial contribution in the series-decider.

BAN 128/1 (21)

09:12 PM IST: Bangladesh Close To Scripting History

Bangladesh are cruising towards the paltry target of 155 runs set by South Africa. Tamim Iqbal is firing on all cylinders, he is unbeaten on 76 off 66 balls. Meanwhile, Liton Das holds the other end with 46 not out.

BAN 124/0 (20)

08:54 PM IST: Fifty For Tamim Iqbal

Tamim Iqbal raced to his 52nd ODI fifty on the first ball of the 15th over. He has looked solid today, dealing mainly in boundaries. The southpaw was lucky at the beginning but no doubt he has played briliantly today.

The Bangladesh skipper is looking in great touch. He is unbeaten on 40 off 35 balls and has hit 9 boundaries so far.

BAN 58/0 (10)

08:14 PM IST: Good Start For Bangladesh

Both the Bangaldeshi openers Tamim and Liton have been lucky so far but it cannot be denied that they have played quite confidently. They have been playing their natural game. Meanwhile, South Africa need wickets early to stand a chance.

BAN 19/0 (5)

08:04 PM IST: Lucky Escape For Tamim

On the fifth ball of the second over bowled by Lungi Ngidi, Tamim Iqbal had almost chopped the ball back on his stumps. To his good luck the Bangladeshi opener not only got saved, but also got a boundary.

07:56 PM IST: Catch Dropped

Kehsaw Maharaj dropped the catch of Liton Das at backward point on the fourth ball of the first over. It was a hit-me ball from Rabada and Liton played it into the hands of Maharaj who failed to hold onto it.

07:54 PM IST: Wait Is Over

So the wait is over and we are back as the second innings starts in Centurion. Bagladesh need 155 runs to script history. Can they get over the line?

07:40 PM IST: Innings Break

Tidy work from Bangladesh so far. Their bowlers were on the money and fielders just complemented them to put up a stunning show, limiting South Africa to their lowest total against the Tigers in ODIs. Taskin Ahmed returned 5/35 while Shakib Al Hasan picked 2/24. Shoriful Islam and Mehidy Hasan shared a wicket each.

This is terrific stuff from Bangladesh but they must know that half of the work still needs to be done. The pitch is a bit sticky and has some good bounce on offer. South Africa will defintely come on all attack, and it's now a test of character for the Bangladeshi batters. The excitement is at its peak, can't wait for the second innings to start.

07:25 PM IST: Run out

South Africa are all out for 154 as Maharaj is run out and Yasir Ali could thank his fortune now as his dropped catch didn't cost much.

SA 154 (37)

07:22 PM IST: Catch Dropped!

Yasir Ali has dropped the catch of Keshav Maharaj. This will hurt Bangladesh for now and even more in the upcoming time if they fail to cross the line by a small margin. It was a short pitch ball from Shoriful Islam and Maharaj tried to play it over cow corner for a biggie but got an outside half of the bat to hit it on the air.

07:16 PM IST: South Africa Lose Another

Lungi Ngidi gets out for a 14-ball duck. Shakib Al Hasan gets his wicket and Bangladesh are just one wicket away from bowling South Africa out.

Talking about the wicket, Ngidi didn't get to the pitch of the ball and mistimed a lofted shot to front on long-off where Najmul Hossain Shanto (substitute fielder) ran forward and completed a good diving catch.

SA 144/9 (34.4)

06:48 PM IST: Another Wicket

Fifer for Taskin Ahmed and look whose wicket he has got to reach the milestone, it is that of Kagiso Rabada, the bowler who had taken a fifer in the preceding ODI in Johannesburg.

06:46 PM IST: Big Wicket

South Africa's last hope in the innings, David Miller, departs on 16 off 31. Another lucky wicket for Taskin Ahmed as he had sprayed it down the leg side, but the extra bounce saw Miller nicking the ball to Mushfiqur.

SA 122/7 (28.3)

06:25 PM IST: Another Wicket

Dwaine Pretorius is out on 20 off 29 balls. Taskin Ahmed claims the wicket. Nothing much on the ball, it was bowled well outside off on a good length but a desperate Pretorius threw his bat to it and got an outside edged to Mushfiqur Rahim.

06:05 PM IST: Excellent From Bangladesh

Bangladesh are going extremely good. South Africa who were 66/1 at one stage are now 89/5. Yes some balls are sticking to the pitch and some are getting surprising bounce, still South Africa could have done better.

The key for Bangladesh from here on will be to hold on to the advantage because it is not over until it is over.

SA 89/5 (20)

05:44 PM IST: Wicket

Oh, what is going on! This is sensational from Bangladesh. Rassie van der Dussen (4 off 10) also walks back to the dugout now. Shoriful got some extra bounce on the ball and all van der Dussen could do is to edge it to the point fielder Mehidy Hasan. Bangaldesh are on a roll today.

Dwaine Pretorius comes in next.

05:44 PM IST: Wicket Again

Another one bites the dust. Temba Bavuma tried to play a sweep shot on the ball of Shakib Al Hasan and completely missed it. Allahudien Paleker raised his hand on an LBW appeal. Bavuma decided to take the review and the ball was found to be clipping the leg stump. Bavuma managed to save the review but not himself. The Bangladeshis are going berserk here at SuperSport Park, centurion.

SA 71/4 (15.5)

05:38 PM IST: Another Wicket

05:02 PM IST: Wicket! De Kock Is Out

The rush of blood gets better of Quinton de Kock (12 off 8) here. He had scored a beautiful boundary on the previous ball of Mehidy Hasan but lost his patience and played the next ball on to the hands of long-off fielder. It happened as the southpaw failed to connect to the shot properly. Nonetheless, Bangladesh have got the first breakthough.

SA 46/1 (6.5)

04:54 PM IST: Positive Start For South Africa

South Africa are going at a good run rate. Both the openers are playing their strokes. Looking at the pitch it seems it has help for both the batters and the bowlers.

04:02 PM IST: South Africa Bat First

South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma has won the toss and decided to bat first against the visitors in the ODI series decider.

03:54 PM IST: Welcome Guys

Hello and welcome to the space guys. We are just minutes away from the toss.

Bangladesh have enough experience to win needle games. On Wednesday, the visitors will have to summon their best skills against a world-class pace attack led by Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi.

Several South Africans like Rabada, who took a five-wicket haul in the last ODI at Wanderers, Nigidi, David Miller, Quinton de Kock and  Rassie van der Dussen will be off to the IPL 2022 after Wednesday's game. A win and good performance will give them extra belief when they land in India, just in time for the world's richest T20 tournament to begin.

Bangladesh will be completely focused. In over two decades, BAN have never won in South Africa but this series has been different. Bangladesh ended their losing streak in Centurion. A series triumph at the same venue will be extra special.

Tamim Iqbal's team has balance and depth. If the top order can handle the South African attack in the first 10 overs, BAN should put up a good score.

In the first ODI in Centurion, Bangladesh scored 314 for seven. Only two out of 12 times have teams lost scoring after 300-plus runs batting first at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

Bangladesh are likely to play with an unchanged XI. South Africa will miss the injured Wayne Parnell.
