Brentford travelled to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday and shocked the Premier league title holders Manchester City with a 2-1 win. In the 16th minute, Ivan Toney fired the away team into the lead. David Raya launched a long free kick which was met with Ben Mee’s head, who looped it towards the six yard box. Toney attacked the ball, rising above Laporte and headed home. Just before half time, Manchester City found the equalizer through Phil Foden. Kevin De Bruyne’s cross is deflected off Manuel Akanji’s head to find 22 year old who thumps a powerful shot into the top right corner, giving no chance to Raya to make a save. City continued to dominate the second half, bombarding players forward, in search of the winner but Brentford kept on soaking and surviving the pressure. Late in the stoppage time of the second half, Brentford broke on the counter with Josh Dasilva playing a low ball across to Toney who steers the ball into the City net to win the game for the visitors. With the loss to the Bees, City remain second in the table but now are five points behind leaders Arsenal.
