When Pat Cummins bats, everyone in the stadiums just watches in awe. On Wednesday, at the MCA stadium in Pune, Cummins was at his sensational best as he took 35 runs of a Daniel Sams over to take Kolkata Knight Riders over the line against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022 with five wickets and four overs to spare. At a time, when the chase looked tricky along with the pitch, Cummins’s 6, 4, 6, 6, N+2, 4, 6 in the 16th over gave KKR their third win of the season. The Australian Test captain also equalled KL Rahul for the fastest fifty of IPL as Mumbai Indians joined Chennai Super Kings for a third straight loss in the tournament. Credit should also go to Venkatesh Iyer for sticking in from the start with a 41-ball 50.
