IND Vs SL: Deepak Chahar, Suryakumar Yadav Ruled Out Of T20 Series, Confirms BCCI

India pacer Deepak Chahar and batter Suryakumar Yadav have been ruled out of the side’s upcoming T20 International series against Sri Lanka, confirmed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday. Both the players have sustained injuries, informed the apex cricket board of India. (More Cricket News)

Chahar and Suryakumar, who got injured in India’s recently-concluded third T20I against West Indies, will go to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for recovery.

“Deepak Chahar sustained a right quadriceps injury during bowling while Suryakumar suffered a hairline fracture during a fielding attempt in the third and final T20I against the West Indies in Kolkata on Sunday. They will now head to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further management of their injuries,” said BCCI in a release.

Sri Lanka’s India tour kicks off with a T20I on Thursday, February 24 in Lucknow. The second and third T20Is between the sides will be played in Dharamshala on February 26 and 27. Both sides will then face off in the two-match Test series that starts on March 4. The first Test is set to be played in Mohali. The game will also mark Virat Kohli’s 100th appearance in Indian whites.

Meanwhile, the second Test starts on March 12 in Bengaluru.
