FIFA World Cup 2022: France Beat Morocco 2-0 As Les Bleus Look To Defend Title Against Argentina – In Pics

France are looking to become the first team to defend the world cup title since Brazil in 1962. The two time world champions secured a 2-0 win against Morocco to book a berth in the final against Lionel Messi’s Argentina. Prior to this game, Morocco were yet to concede from open play, but it only took five minutes for France to break the defence line. Raphael Varane released Antoine Griezmann who offloads the ball to Kylian Mbappe. The PSG man saw his two shots blocked and the rebound fell towards Theo Hernandez to slot it home calmly to give France the lead. Despite going 1-0 down, Morocco did not back down and attacked with full strength though they weren’t very clinical. Until the 79th minute, Morocco pushed and never let France get comfortable. In the 79th minute, substitute Randal Kolo Muani scored to kill the Moroccan dream. Mbappe was unbeatable in the final third and took a shot towards goal. His effort is saved but the rebound falls in the path of Kolo Muani who doesn’t miss from close range to put the ball past Yassine Bounou.
