After having an upper hand at the end of rain-marred Day 4, Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews laid the foundation for Sri Lanka’s big total as the visitors posted 506 all out with a lead of 141 runs. While Chandimal was out for 124, Mathews remained unbeaten on 145. Shakib Al Hasan was the best of Bangladeshi bowlers with figures of 5/96. Ebadot Hossain took 4/148. In reply, the visitors wreaked havoc, especially Asitha Fernando, as Bangladesh lost all their top four batters to be at 34/4 in the second innings at stumps.
