The Sub-Text Good call going with those oversized cuffs, Shreyas Navare. Wheeling R.K. Laxman on a tour of your illustrations was reason enough for sweaty palms. Having him pause to actually read into them should have been just cause for the IIT-schooled part-time cartoonist’s penhand to waver. A biting comment at this point? Overkill? Oh boy, You said it.

R.K. Laxman He brought the common man centrestage. Rasipuram Krishnaswamy Laxman (1927-) inked his first steps to immortality by illustrating brother and novelist R.K. Narayan's stories. Recognition came with Blitz his first and the last strip cartoon, and fame with The Times of India, Mumbai. His humour is devastating yet laconic.
