When there was no broadband internet and digital advancement like today, nothing was more special than the National Geographic when it came to breathtaking photographs and stories from far and wild. Every issue, with a stunning photo in their trademark yellow frame, would attract me from a multitude of magazines. However, it was also so expensive that I only bought back issues from slightly fancy raddiwalas, that too on a good money day. I wouldn’t lend them to others nor were they given away. Years later, I bought a special issue on water crisis from the newspaper stand, my first fresh copy of the magazine I love. Still have it, treasure it.
