Can They Fill Up The Parking? How often do Mumbai's high and mighty (and glamorous, and rich) gather to get photographed—all for a worthy cause? This time, it's a state-of-the-art car parking facility, a joint venture by Reliance and MMRDA, dedicated ‘to the city’. The cast then: Sachin, Amruta Fadnavis, Neeta Ambani, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Mukesh Ambani and Amitabh Bachchan.

No Presents For A Star A normal show of husbandly affection that we all applaud, even consider proper. Yet, when it's shown by Reliance Industries Ltd CMD Mukesh Ambani at Aamir Khan's birthday party, people expect a comment. Well, there is none. Except that Mr Ambani, never one for ostentation, ignored for once the intruding lenses.

Hello Brother The twain do meet, after all. The contretemps of the past decade have always been worn lightly at family gatherings commandeered by the matriarch or during the occasional public meetings. As here, at the 'Mumbai Next' seminar, where the two Ambani siblings reach out casually, as if handshakes are an everyday reality. Tata Group bossman Cyrus Mistry does not miss the delicacy of the moment though. That backward glance says it all.

Get in Line No, the buffet hasn't started yet and, yes, the loos still have a few empty stalls, so why are the who's who of India Inc's billionaire list queuing up? Well, it seems it is to shake, perchance to give a little squeeze, to the hand of the leader of the free world, the most powerful man on earth, US prez Barack Obama, at the dinner in his honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Pass the hand sanitiser, somebody.

The Lord Wore Pink Was Rajasthan's Nathdwara temple a whorl of one colour—of lahariya saris—as its most powerful patrons met over the matriarch's 80th birthday? Possibly. Also noteworthy are an absence of overt fraternal bonhomie for the cameras. Kokilaben's two daughters-in-law occupy extreme ends of the frame. Mukesh and Anil look happy, but separately.

Bittersweet Symphony If the fraternal bonhomie by Mukesh and Anil Ambani at the inauguration of a memorial to Dhirubhai was reminiscent of the grandeur of pre-divided Reliance, the sinking of RI stock to a 52-week-low the day after was surely not.

Indian Express

Tolstoy got it right: All happy families resemble one another, each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. So while Rahul and Rohan nearly came to blows about weight-related taunts and whom mom loves more, Mukesh and Anil drew apart over the billion-dollar empire their father Dhirubhai Ambani left intestate. Where SRK’s character in K3G withdrew from the scene (and his grouse was more with his father, in any case), the Ambani brothers stayed in Mumbai and fought it out, in court, in newspaper advertisements, at AGMs and in boardrooms....Now, the khushi may be returning, with a settlement agreement in the offing that will allow the Ambanis to do business with each other, although they will remain independent entities. Is the next scene going to be about khushi or gham? Wait and watch.
