Mitchell Starc notched his 27th wicket of this World Cup edition, dismissing Jonny Bairstow, breaking fellow countryman Glenn McGrath record of most wickets in a single Cricket World Cup edition. McGrath had registered 26 wickets in his country's victorious campaign in the 2007 World Cup.

Mitchell Starc put in a good shift with the bat, hitting 29 runs off 36 balls, packed with a four and six. Australia set a a target of 224.
