Mani Shankar Aiyar vs Suresh Kalmadi Aiyar, arch-critic of the Commonwealth Games, announced in July that he wanted them to fail and was “delighted” that the rains were causing difficulties. Kalmadi retaliated: “Mr Mani Shankar Aiyar, nobody can spoil the Games. Things are on track, stadiums have been built.
