    Mani Shankar Aiyar vs Suresh Kalmadi Aiyar, arch-critic of the Commonwealth Games, announced in July that he wanted them to fail and was “delighted” that the rains were causing difficulties. Kalmadi retaliated: “Mr Mani Shankar Aiyar, nobody can spoil the Games. Things are on track, stadiums have been built. If Mr Mani Shankar had continued to be the sports minister, probably we would not have seen these stadiums”. With Kalmadi’s stars trampled all over, it isn’t hard to figure out who’s had the last laugh.
