Shock Therapy Chhattisgarh Congress leader Ajit Jogi is generally thought of as a leader who is too clever by half, someone who knows the import of what he says. That’s why he took many by surprise when at a recent election rally attended largely by tribals from Jashpur in the north, he warned them against pressing any evm button other than the one with the ‘hand sign’ (the Congress symbol), saying they would get an electric shock otherwise! Given the results, it seems his warning had little impact. As if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, he hosted a dinner for journalists days before the results were announced to “celebrate his party’s victory” while also cranking up the lobbying efforts for the CM’s gaddi. Now it’s all coming back to shock Mr Jogi.
