Senior Congress leader Saifuddin Soz tells Outlook the Jammu and Kashmir administration continues to keep him under house arrest, despite the furore triggered by his detention two weeks ago when the Opposition had demanded his immediate release.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration, in an affidavit to the Supreme Court, said that Soz was 'never detained nor under house arrest' and there are 'no restrictions on his movement'. Soz, however, has something else to say.
'What's the security deal? Does he need permission every time he wants to leave his house?' asked former J-K CM Omar Abdullah as he took a dig at the UT's Principal Secretary Rohit Kansal for claiming Saifuddin was not under detention.
