With Ram Jethmalani's demise, we have lost an eminent jurist, a great intellectual, a fearless human being and one of the most respected members of the Bar.
Ram Jethmalani was famously known as the doyen of criminal law in the country. His tryst with the subject started at the young age of 18 and he practiced it for nearly 60 years.
Ram Jethmalani, 95, passed away on Sunday at 7.45 am at his official residence in New Delhi. He died a few days before his 96th birthday on September 14
The prime minister Modi recalled that one of the best aspects of eminent jurist and former Union minister Ram Jethmalani was the ability to speak his mind.
"No person can be subjected to scandalous and abusive language in garb of cross-examination; this has to be dealt with a heavy hand," the court told the CM, referring to the remarks made by Kejriwal's former counsel, Ram Jethmalani.
In a letter, reportedly written by Jethmalani to Kerjiwal, the former has accused the latter of using even more offensive language in private conversations while referring to Jaitley.
Jaitley, who had filed the civil defamation suit claiming Rs 10 crore damages from Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders, had filed another defamation suit of Rs 10 crore against the Chief Minister alone
Jethmalani wrote an open letter to Justice Karnan against whom the Supreme Court has issued a bailable warrant to ensure his presence before it on March 31 in a contempt case.
