MP Ready to Experience Great Fall; Skydiving to Soon Begin in the State

Madhya Pradesh, the award-winning state for adventure is soon to add Skydiving to its offerings. The state is all set to witness a diving camp from January 28 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for two consecutive weeks. However, the activities will be conducted in strict compliance with the latest covid protocols.

The camp will first be launched at Ujjain Air Strip, Datana which is a public airstrip owned by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. The nearest airport to the strip is Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport in Indore.

Organized by the Sky High India, India’s only international skydiving dropzone located two hours away from New Delhi, the dates for the jump would be January 28^th  to 30^th  in the first week and then from February 4^th to 6^th in the second week.

The process of skydiving would include ground training where one will be briefed about maintaining correct posture and landing techniques. This will be followed by a period of gearing up for the activity. As per the instructions, one must wear apt clothing and laced up footwear. Next, adventure enthusiasts will board the plane and would be taken to a height of 10,000 feet before diving. The average falling speed of the divers would be 220 km per hour. The free fall will last for 20-25 seconds. The parachute will open at a height of 5000 feet and it shall take 4 to 5 minutes to reach the ground.

Among the different levels of skydiving, Tandem Skydiving is the easiest and safest for beginners to start with where the divers will share a parachute with an instructor who will control the jump. The complete package includes capturing pictures and videos and will sum up to INR 31,270 for a person.

The training team includes Rudra Bhanu Solanki, a USPA certified skydiving coach with over 250 jumps across ten drop zones around the world, Digvijay Singh who once represented India at the Asian Games and the World Cup of Golf and Rajkumar Balakrishnan, a former Indian Navy skydiver and bearer of the Tenzing Norgay National Adventurer Award in 2016.
