After COVID-19 second wave, Indian professionals have realised that work from home culture will stay longer than we thought.
So it comes as good news that on Wednesday (May 12), Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has launched a set of work from hotel packages in Kerala for those looking for a change of view while still working safely within four walls.
As per the statement from IRCTC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Indian Railways, they have launched this initiative because they believe it is the right time to increase efforts to “rekindle confidence” in travel. These packages will provide a “soothing and refreshing ambience” to working professionals, a better alternative from the usual work from the home set-up.
The statement added, “Working away from the typical office setting has become the new normal during these pandemic times. Professionals can pick their favourite destination in Kerala among the list of hotels offered under the ‘work from hotel’ concept.”
These work-from-hotel packages are available in popular destinations of Kerala, God’s Own Country such as Munnar, Marari (Alleppey), Kumarakom, Cochin, Kovalam, Thekkady and Wayanad. IRCTC has said that the corporation would also explore similar packages in other for other locations too.
According to IRCTC, the duration of the package is a minimum of five nights and can be expanded prorate basis. The rate of the packages starts at Rs 10,126 per person on triple occupancy for a five-night stay. This rate includes disinfected rooms, three meals, tea/coffee twice a day, complimentary Wi-Fi, secured parking for vehicles, and travel insurance.
The hotels that are part of the package will follow strict COVID safety protocols of hygiene standards. The packages can be booked online via the IRCTC website or the IRCTC mobile app available on Android and IOS. Keeping in mind the Covid situation of India, the packages designed doesn’t include any sightseeing.
According to the recent data from the Union of Health Ministry, there are around 24,372,907 active cases in India, out of which there are 266,229 deaths and 20,432,898 recoveries. There are 11 states with more than one lakh cases, and remaning states have less than one lakh cases.
