Indian Railways Launches Summer Special Trains

Summer's here and that means holidays, plus there's the festival season too. To cope with the rush, several Summer Special trains have been introduced on various zones. These trains will run single side trips as fully reserved train services. 
 
Passengers have been advised to follow all norms regarding COVID-19 including sanitization, social distancing, wearing face masks, etc., in the trains and at the railway stations. 
 
Northern Railways has introduced the following: a New Delhi-Darbhanga Junction Summer Special Express; the Anand Vihar Terminal-Sitamarhi Junction Summer Special Express; the Anand Vihar Terminal-Bhagalpur Summer Special Express; Anand Vihar Terminal-Jogbani Summer Special Express; and the New Delhi-Rajgir Summer Special Express.

Indian Railways' Western Railway(WR) zone has announced that it will operate 14 new summer special trains. They have also extended services of another 30 special trains till June.
 
They had introduced 30 pairs of festival special trains from January 2021 to March 2021. These have been extended upto June 2021. 
 
Western Railways has announced that 14 summer special trains are being considered for several destinations, especially for Patna, Gorakhpur, Bhagalpur, Ghazipur, and Guwahati. 
 
Apart from that, the Railways is monitoring the waiting list of trains every day, and attaching additional coaches where needed.  
 
In order to avoid overcrowding at railway stations, only confirmed passengers are being allowed entry. Also, platform tickets have been done away with. Strict adherence to pandemic SOPs have to be followed by passengers, failing which they'll be fined.
