On February 22 the Maldives recorded 5,100 tourists, the highest number in a single day in 2021. That's not bad considering we are in the middle of a pandemic.
According to local media, between January 1 and February 20, 2021, over 1,60,000 travllers made a trip to the Maldives. Most of the tourists were from India, Kazakhastan, Xinhua, Ukraine, and Russia. The island country plans on attracting 1.5 million tourists by the end of 2021.
Planning a visit? As per government officials, the Maldives requires a mandatory RT-PCR COVID negative test report from the travellers. Without one, tourists won’t be allowed to roam around.
