Nainital is in the middle of hosting its 2020 Winter Carnival in a bid to revive its tourism sector. The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council and Nainital District Administration kickstarted preparations earlier this month, and selected a number of areas spanning the city for the five-day festival.
District Administration Nainital invites you to a Butterfly Walk at Kyari, a forest village in the Jim Corbett area. A part of the Winter Carnival Nainital 2020, the festival will span over 5 days from December 26-30. According to reports, Sataal, Bhimtal, Kotabagh, and Pangot are a few places headlining the carnival. People can indulge in activities ranging from bird-watching, village-touring, and wall-painting. Those with more of an adventure streak can choose from kayaking, paragliding, boating, para-motoring, hot air balloon rides, ATV rally, MTB rally, trekking, zip-lining, and rock-climbing. Flower shows and heritage walks are included as well.
Sataal and Pangot will host bird-watching workshops, while Kotabagh and Bhimtal will organise the rest of the aforementioned activities; paragliding competitions being of primary focus in Kotabagh, and flower shows, wall painting, and boat races taking centrestage in Bhimtal.
Nainital will lead boat-decorations, a half marathon, and astro-photography.
