People who enjoy an occasional drink on flights may now have to give up on that indulgence. As an effort to lower interaction between passengers and crew, multiple airlines have decided to stop their alcoholic beverage services.
Customers will be allowed to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages on board. Food services will temporarily be on hold and water is the only refreshment that will be available.
The alcohol ban comes along with a long list of other guidelines that one must keep in mind before air travel. While some airlines have banned other drinks apart from water, others like KLM have said that some soft drinks will be available on board. American Airlines has decided to make alcohol available only for long distance international flights.
In order to compensate for this lack of food and drinks services, some airlines like British Airways and Virgin Australia have decided to offer customers pre-packed complimentary refreshments and a bottle of water. Those airlines continuing with food services will make it compulsory for customers to pre-order it before boarding the flight.
