Self isolation is key to preventing the spread of coronavirus. This inclination, mixed with government travel bans, has resulted in many an air trip cancellation in the past few weeks. Additionally, customer service numbers have been busy as people call to gain information on health safety or on what measures are being taken for cleanliness. News reports say that GoAir’s customer service calls have gone up 500-700% in the past 3-4 weeks. The sheer number has led to a lack of attention being given to individual callers.
To battle this situation, GoAir has launched a ‘Year Long Peace of Mind’ scheme. Under this, the airpline will carry the PNR of any existing or new booking between March 1, 2020 and April 15, 2020 for a year. What does that mean? If your ticket is booked between the above mentioned time period but you decide to not fly (as current circumstances would have it), you will simply have to not show up. There will be no requirement to call or connect to the airline for cancellation. GoAir will instead protect this PNR from April 15, 2020 to April 15, 2021, and with one, you can avail any other flight in that time period. This applies to any flight in any sector.
Though there will be no extra charges for not showing up, fare differences may still be applicable. In order to redeem their PNR on a later date, customers can book their tickets through the airlines’ website, app or airport counter.
