The ‘blended wing’ aircraft, unveiled at the 2020 Singapore Airshow, has been named MAVERIC (Model Aircraft for Validation and Experimentation of Robust Innovative Controls). The new design resembles a blended fuselage with high mounted engines. The aim is to significantly reduce carbon emissions to meet growing environmental guidelines. It is believed that the prototype could bring major efficiency benefits to commercial aviation.
