Who doesn’t like butter? For many, the love for this golden dairy goodness knows no bounds. One of those foods that can turn blandest of your meals into a masterpiece, butter sure does make everything better. However, how often do you get to indulge in some top-notch, rich, creamy butter? Look no further. Colorado’s got all the answers. The town of Lyon in Colorado, US is now home to the world’s first Butter Bar.
A butter factory-cum-cafe called Bella La Crema is where you can enjoy a crusty baguette with four generous samples of compound butter, flavoured with herbs and spices such as tarragon and turmeric. Started by dairy enthusiast, Shauna Lee Strecker, Bella La Crema offers everything from simply salted to Mayan Chocolate Muse.
The butter is mainly divided into two broad categories - sweet and savoury. The sweet variation includes a mixture of nutmeg, lavender, vanilla, and breakfast blend of molasses, maple, cinnamon and orange juice. The savoury alternative, on the other hand, incorporates lime and paprika. The menu also includes items like grilled-cheese made of rosemary sage butter, and chicken salad made with buttermilk dressing. Their specials include the highly coveted French onion soup and hot buttered coffee infused with flavours as bizarre as bacon and bourbon.
One of the striking features of the cafe is the decor. With cow artwork on the wall, a cow figurine mounted over the kitchen door and cow lights on the windows, a visit to Bella La Crema is nothing less than pure indulgence.
