Students in Pune know this experience rather well: travelling from Mumbai in a minibus for hours as songs from the early 2000s blast inside. Most students who come from outside of Maharashtra, usually land in Mumbai (cheaper, more flight frequency, direct and more) and then carrying all their baggage head to the bus stop slightly far away, the closest being in the Bandra area.
However, all that's changed from December 16, 2019. Bus services from Mumbai to Pune have started from Terminal 1 (domestic)! A total of 24 Shivneri buses and 50 Shivshahi buses have begun plying on the route. International passengers who wish to avail of the service must make their way to T1 from T2.
The first bus leaves the terminal at 5:30am. The service is available every hour till 9:45pm, providing 14 trips to Pune every single day. The journey halts at Swargate.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation is also providing similar bus services to Dapoli in Ratnagiri district. Buses for the same start from 7:30am.
Now, you can just land and go to the bus counter outside and leave for Pune ASAP!
